Pictures from Wizard World Philly 2008! |

Getting the word out for the first novel at Wizard World Philly was a great success, and a lot of fun! It was good to see some familiar artists and meet new ones as well. -And the costumes worn by people at the show were fun to watch. Many of them had a lot of detail! |
Historical sights from the road trip |
||
Although Defending Tavyr takes place in a fantasy world, and in another time, much of it was inspired by the American War of Independence. After all, the story is in fact, about a democratic revolution. Because of this, and because of the fact that I am a big fan of history, I have included photos of Revolutionary War sites that I visited on the road trip to Wizard World Philly. |

There were 4 members of my family tree who fought for independence. One of them was Captain Emerson Corliss, a cousin of one of my great grandfathers. He served with General Sullivan's men during the battles of Trenton and Princeton. Therefore, one of the coolest things for me was seeing this museum painting of General Sullivan's men attacking the Hessian barracks in Trenton and then being able to see the same building in person. When I took the photo, I was probably walking in the same spots that Emerson did over 200 years ago. |
